Ajith back to acting?

Here we come with a scoop which could make Ajith fans jump with joy. If sources are to be believed, the actor has temporarily quit the car races in which he was busy for the past couple of months.

“Ajith will soon start his 50th film which will be directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon. He has decided to give a break to races thanks to some personal and professional reasons,” circles close to the actor say.

The actor, who is also an avid racer, was busy with the Formula 2 races for the past few months and made some remarkable achievements on the racing track.

With a personal best lap timing of 1:44.007, Ajith Kumar completed the race in the first round of FIA Formula 2 Championship at Silverstone, UK. Ajith, who started at position 22 and finished the race at 18, said at that time, "The agenda was to hang in there, get the race feel of the car and complete the race. Aamir skips 'Raavan' premiere for mother

This could have been the Clash of the Titans with the presence of supposed rivals Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan at the London premiere of Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai starrer 'Raavan' Wednesday, if the latter had not missed the event for his mother.

While Shah Rukh got an invitation both from Abhishek and his megastar father Amitabh, Aamir was invited by the Big B himself.

'Amitji invited me for the premiere of 'Raavan' in London when I was there. But I had to come here for my mother's birthday on June 13 and go to Pune to be with her. However, I wish the movie gets success and all my best wishes to Abhishek and Aishwarya,' said Aamir.

'Raavan' releasing in more than 2,200 screens worldwide

The much-awaited Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai starrer 'Raavan' will hit over 2,200 screens worldwide Friday, says its distributor.

Co-produced by Madras Talkies and Reliance BIG Pictures, who are also distributing the movie, it is releasing simultaneously in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

The Hindi version, which is titled 'Raavan' and also stars Govinda, Nikhil Dwivedi and Tamil superstar Vikram, will release on 1,250 screens in India and in 325 screens overseas in over 35 countries including US, Canada, Britain, UAE, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, France, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

The Tamil version is titled 'Raavanan' and it will release in 225 screens in India, including in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka apart from Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Pune and Baroda with English subtitles.

In the overseas market, the Tamil version will release on 150 screens in countries like Singapore, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, the US, Britain, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.

The dubbed Telugu version is named 'Villian' and it will hit 215 screens in Andhra Pradesh and 25 screens in the US, Australia and New Zealand. Source:Yahoo

Manoj Bajpai as Coal Mafia Don in Kashyap’s “Gangs of Wassipur”.

Manoj Bajpai is all set to don the garb of a bad guy for Anurag Kashyap’s “Gangs of Wassipur”. The actor says he has verbally agreed to play a coal mafia gangster, but has yet to sign on the dotted line.

“The story, of course, has a gang involved in it. It’s not like ‘Satya’ because there that was Mumbai mafia. This will show the coal mafia of Dhanbad (Jharkhand),” Manoj told IANS. “I haven’t signed the film, but I have verbally agreed to do it.”

Manoj is still remembered for playing gangster Bhiku Matre in Ramgopal Varma’s underworld drama “Satya” (1998) - the film was a huge success at the box office.

Though he hasn’t signed the contract, Manoj has already started making preparation to tone down his body for his role in “Gangs of Wassipur”. “I have to lose three kgs in one-and-a-half month for the film. I have to look lean,” he said.

Having showed his impressive six-pack for the hit Twilight series, Hollywood actor Taylor Lautner has said, he will only peel off again only if the role requires it.

"Originally I was supposed to take off my shirt in the movie. The script said we were walking into school and (my character) Willy takes off his shirt. I said, 'No. He's going to take off his shirt in the middle of school? No, no, no'," contactmusic.com quoted the actor as saying, for his another movie Valentine's Day.
