Ranjitha is taking a new avatar. The actress, who hit the headlines after some ‘controversial tapes’ were aired on television channels, is busy penning two books with the “support of her husband and family members”.“One of my books is aimed at helping people caught in problems and the other is a fiction, set around today’s youth. I am holding talks with publishers and the one dealing with problems will be released first,” she said in an interview.

The actress, who said she was badly hurt thanks to the video clips, added: “The media was showing me in a bad light. But my husband, parents, in-laws and other family members stood as pillars of strength.”

On her future plans, she said, “I want to take a break from acting. I am very fond of Indian spiritual writing and basically a book worm. I would like to write more books.” Meanwhile, reports have it that Ranjitha, who came to Chennai recently, met up with CB-CID officials and submitted her version in the Nithyananda case.

Vijay’s ‘Velayudham’ will inguarated by Jakie Chan!.

Vijay’s previous films have been flunking down terribly at box office and he has decided to make powerful movies from now on. The first will be ‘Kavalkaran’ that in no way will be the same as his previous film and the next one if ‘Velayudham’.

The sources closer to producer Aascar Ravichandran have left a buzz that Hollywood superstar Jackie Chan will launch the film at Nehru Indoor Stadium. We aren’t sure about this fact as the actor may or may not attend the occasion.

Last time Aascar Ravichandran had nearly spent Rs 4.5Crores for audio launch of Kamal Haasan’s Dasavatharam. Since, there haven’t been any big releases from Vijay or Aascar Ravichandran; it looks like the plans maybe quite bigger this time.

Surya -Shruthi's '7am Arivu' at Adyar

AR Murgadoss, the Ghajini director has started work on his new Suriya film 7am Arivu, in and around Chennai.

The film has Suriya and Sruthi Hassan in the lead and has music by Harris Jayaraj and is produced by Red Giants.

Suriya has new look for the film. The star has styled his hair and colored it light brown.

Ace cameraman Ravi K Chandran using Jimmy Jip shot a very interesting scene near the Adyar flyover. Suriya comes to Aavin Milk Parlour situated near the flyover riding a horse with Sruthi on the backside and buys her an ice cream from the parlour!

Locking lips thrilling in 'Aaravathu Vanam'

Locking lips on screen for the camera can be quite embarrassing. A fact which actress Vidhya, who is making her debut in Kollywood with 'Aaravathu Vanam', directed by debutant Buvanesh, realized recently.

Sources close to the film’s unit say that the actress broke down after having to lock lips with the hero (Bushan) for a particular scene in the film.

Initially, the actress refused to do the scene and even walked out of the sets in a huff. However, director Buvanesh later convinced her to do the scene.

According to the storyline, the heroine having soft corner towards the hero falls in love with him. But the hero doesn’t feel the same and tries to kill her uncle for an old enmity developed between them. One day he comes to her village and finds her uncle in front of her. Initially, the heroine wrongly understands that the hero has come to see her, but after seeing the brutality through his eyes, she realizes the critical situation.

Soon she understands the hero’s intention and tries to save her uncle as well as love. She rushes towards the hero and gives a lip to lip kiss. Slowly the hero loses his tempers and cools with the sensational kiss of heroine.

In fact, even after shooting for the scene, she was so worried about having locked lips on screen that she was seen shedding tears. However, after the director showed her the scenes that had been shot, she was convinced that she had made the right decision.

"Save Raavanan From piracy"-Suhasini

Reliance BIG Pictures and Madras Talkies extensively released their film Raavan in around 2200 screens worldwide making it the first Indian film to release simultaneously in Hindi Tamil and Telugu versions.

The film worked primarily in multiplexes in metros but the business was poor in single screens and interiors.The film opened to negative reviews and fared badly at the box office though it subsequently acquired cult status. Sources say Raavan doesn’t seems to have any scope at the box office.

Suhashini Mani Ratnam, irked by the poor response to the film, has reportedly blamed the pirated DVDs a reason for the failure of Raavan.

It is in news that actress Suhashini Mani Ratnam was annoyed over the use of pirated DVDs of Raavanan doing rounds in the outside market.

The actress has met the Chennai Commissioner of Police T Rajendran to take action against the pirated DVD’s and save the movie ‘Raavanan’.

Suhasini while talking to the journalists after lodging the complaint said "Pirated DVDs of the movie were brought to Chennai from Puducherry and other neighboring States. We have also lodged a complaint to Puducherry Chief Minister Vaithyalingam. "

"The police chief has immediately requested his subordinates to look into the issue", the actress added further.

Suhasini however denied the alleged involvement of the people in the film industry in bringing out the pirated versions. Source;KC

South Indian thunder thighs beauty Rambha is coming up to entertain her fans with a thriller movie. “ Vidiyum Varai Kathiru” is ready to hit screens and is awaiting for the distributors. This will be the first film of actress Rambha after marriage and has hero Prakashraj as the lead. The movie is about a pretty woman trapped up in the house and the subject imitates an English thriller. Taj Noor is the music director of this film and the movie is said to be hitting screens in July.

Chikku Bukku is a full length comedy film. The whole story revolves around Arya and me. The audience will see a bubbly Shreya is this film. I liked my role very much. The audience and fans will also like my role. There is no second heroine. Hindi actress Amirtha Rao’s sister is acting in this film. She is doing a guest role in this, film. I need not say that whose role has significance.

Many are asking me whether I am acting in Roudram. There was some news recently. I also got the news. I am acting in this film. The first
schedule of this film is over. I did not participate in the shooting. The next schedule of the film is to commence in the month of July.

I will take part in the shooting. With regard to the English film What’s Cooking, it was produced with the purpose of screening it in film festivals. Ithas already participated in many festivals. As a first stage my dream was fulfilled in acting in a film produced by Deepa Mehta. I believe that I willbe acting in a film directed by her shortly.

Rajinikanth had earlier said ‘Endhiran’ will be an August release. But our sources close to Shankar say the film may be pushed to September because of special effects taking more time than thought.

'Kaavalkaran' starred again!..

'Kaavalkaran' starring Vijay and Asin, directed by Siddique of ‘Friends’ fame, has hit a rough spot, it is reliably learnt.

Initially, the film was supposed to hit screens on June, but got delayed as due to the marriage of Siddique’s daughter and the fact that Vijay had to leave abroad as per his scheduled vacation, then the film's release was postponed to July.

Caught in between Vijay’s tour and Siddique’s daughter’s marriage were Asin’s call-sheets. The actress, who had given bulk dates for her third film with Vijay, is now busy shooting in Sri Lanka for her upcoming Hindi film opposite Salman Khan. This has now further delayed the shooting of the film ‘Kaavalkaran’ by a further couple of months.

According to the sources Asin, who is scheduled to return to Chennai in August, would start shooting for ‘Kaavalkaran’ only at that time. Finding no other go, Siddique has decided to restart the shooting in August, as Vijay also is said to be very intent in kick-starting his 51st film ‘Velayudham’ directed by Jayam Raja. Source:KT

Sonia Agarwal and ace director Selva Raghavan were granted divorce officially on March 2010. They were romancing for a while and got married later in Dec 2006. After 3 years of marriage, lot of problems caused their hearts to part ways.

But their families maintain cordial relationships even today as they keep meeting often.

Recently, Kasturi Raja seems to have approached Sonia to play a prominent role in his upcoming film 'Pandiya Perarasu' that has Prakash Raj, Prabhu, Raj Kiran, Ramya Krishnan and Kota Srinivasa Rao in lead roles.

When approached, Kasturi Raja said,
"Yes, it’s true that I requested Sonia Agarwal to perform an important role in this film. And she too has accepted the offer. The reason why my son and Sonia Agarwal divorced was, she was unable to follow the dreams of Selva who always leads a life which is full of dreams.. Hot Beauty Trisha is loving every moment of shooting for her new film 'Manmadhan Ambu', directed by K S Ravikumar starring Kamal and Madhavan in lead roles.

Two days back, the unit of the film which was shooting in Paris went to Monte Carlo and joined a cruise.

The ship which reminds you of Titanic is huge with three decks and with the crew including the lead pair Kamal and Trisha has set off on the cruise where the major part of the shoot is taking place.

Trisha says: “It's an awesome experience and enjoying every moment of it.”

Mani Ratnam badly in need of rest and nothing is going to compensate with his health. The filmmaker had a very tough time while filming his trilingual film ‘Raavanan’ and that could have been the reason letting buzzes open that it was his associate directors Azhagam Perumal and S.S. Stanley completing few portions.

There are more mixed reviews for the films and the box office collections are proving to be good at certain standards while poor in B and C centres. Meanwhile, there is a news spreading from Mani Ratnam’s office that he has got 3 scripts: one Simbhu to be shot in exotic foreign locations and another one for Dhanush tentatively titled as ‘Pookada’ and the final script, a big bang action packed thriller drama.

Hansika Motwani has found a fan in actor-director Prabhu Deva, after she shot non-stop for 15 hours for his new film.

It was raining heavily in Paris for a few days and finally, when the skies cleared the shoot resumed, Hansika worked non-stop for 15 hours so that they could get back to their schedule.

"Hansika is so beautiful and talented and that too at such a young age, and her commitment towards work is extraordinary. She is a star in the making!!" said Prabhu Deva.

Arya & Nayan goes to Swiss

Arya has taken off to the Swiss Alps to picturise a song for his forthcoming film Boss Engira Bhaskaran. The unit plans to shoot in the backdrop of Switzerland's picturesque locales, scenic routes and beautiful mountains.

Nayanthara the leading lady of Boss Engira Baskaran who is in Paris on location of her “good friend” Prabhu Deva’s Ich will join the unit in Interlaken in the next three days.

Arya is keeping his fingers crossed as his ambitious film Madharasapattinam directed by Vijay is getting ready for release on July 2. He has also completed Chikku Bhukku with Shriya Saran.

Rajesh the director of Boss Engira Bhaskaran says: “The film has shaped up well and the chemistry between Arya and Nayanthara along with Santhanam’s comedy and Yuvan Shankar Raja’s music is the highlight of the film.” The film is produced by KS Sreenivasan of Vasans Visual Ventures.

Vikram's "Vedi" on shoots from from July 15th

After getting critical and box-office success with the opening of Raavanan, Vikram is still on promotional tour for the film.

He will be going to Kerala, Andhra and towards the end of the month to US, where he will be honoured by Tamizh Sangam.

Speaking with us Vikram said: “I’m so happy after going on a theatre round on the opening day of the release of Raavanan in Chennai. The response to the film has been simply amazing, as people are going crazy about it. Now for the next two weeks I will be promoting the film even more aggressively all over south India.”

Vikram will start his new film Vedi with Ileana, directed by Bhoopathy Pandian and produced by Mohan Natarajan on July 15 in Salem. It is a “typical mass commercial cocktail” where he will once again play a cop after Saamy. Devi Sri Prasad will provide music for the film.

Nayantara dropped 1 Crore Project!

Nayantara, the Kollywood hot actress has reportedly declined to endorse a popular consumer goods product even though the company had offered her a 1 Crore Rs cheque.

It is worth mentioning that Nayan refused to act in commercial ads while Nayan's contemporaries Asin and Trisha are earning crores of rupees by endorsing cool drinks brands and many other products.

It is said that recently, a popular consumer goods company approached actress Nayantara with an offer of Rs 1 crore to endorse the various products manufactured by them. Even before the talks could proceed on to the next stage, Nayantara reportedly said a strict ‘no’ to the offer, it is reliably learnt.

For long, Nayan has been adapting the policy of ‘not appearing’ in any commercial advertisements.

“Once I decide about something, seldom do I revoke that decision. Irrespective of the money offered to me, I said ‘no’ to the offer to endorse the company’s products. I do not want to cheat people by making them believe that I am using the product in order to get them buy it for the sake of the money offered to me. I simply can’t understand this logic,” says Nayan who refused to reveal the name of the brand.

Silambarasan now seems to be more choosy in selecting roles. He has two films on the roll.

Simbu's first project is for debutant Vignesh Shiva’s Poda Podi in which he pairs opposite Sarath Kumar's daughter.He will also kickstart Lingusamy’s untitled new film for Cloud Nine in July. According to sources, Silambarasan, in all probability, will be romancing Tamannah in his forthcoming Linguswamy's film.

Tamannah plays a law college student and she has also been asked to lose some weight and get fit for the role. Tamannah has been asked to give 25 days successively for the film by Lingusamy.

Lingusamy's associates say Simbu-Tamanna pair will be as much talked about as Simbu-Trisha jodi in ‘Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaaya’.

For the important role of Simbu's brother in the film Lingusamy had approached Madhavan and is still waiting for his answer. While waiting for Madhavan, Lingusamy also has a stand by in Ajmal, just in case.
