Manisha Koirala, who recently tied the knot with Nepali businessman Samrat Dahal, has signed her first project where she will be playing the role of a politician.
"It`s a women oriented film where she plays the role of a politician. The film is being made under the banner of Yograj Cinevista. Other cast and crew are under finalisation," a statement from the producer said.
The actress, who is the grand daughter of first elected Prime Minister of Nepal B P Koirala, says she always wanted to play the role of a politician.
"I am glad Yograj Cinevista offered me this role and I am looking forward to be playing this role. After marriage I wanted a different and challenging role which I have got," the statement quoted Manisha as saying.
Manisha, who caught the imagination of film lovers with her 1991 Subhash Ghai film `Saudagar`, went on to give memorable performances in Vidhu Vinod Chopra`s `1942: A Love Story`, Mani Ratnam`s `Bombay`, `Dil Se` and Sanjay Leela Bhansali`s `Khamoshi`.
Her upcoming projects include Deepti Naval`s directorial debut `Do Paise Ki Dhoop`, `Char Aane Ki Baarish`, Rohit Kaushik`s `Chehere` and Onir`s `I Am` series where she plays a Kashmiri woman.Source:Spicezee
